OUR STORY

Sew U Knit Crafts was founded by Susan Bennett in 2014. We’re a bricks and mortar store that sells to our loyal local customers and nationally, across the UK. We’ve even been known to send packages occasionally by special requests to visitors to the region who couldn’t get the wool they wanted in their own country!

We live and breathe our work, and all of our team members are keen knitters and crafters. We’re a knowledgeable bunch and are able to offer a totally personal service where no ask is too little or too much.

Stocking a range of beautiful wools from major brands such as Rowan, James C Brett, Katia and Sirdar, as well as some smaller, boutique and independent yarn producers from British businesses, our perfectly formed selection available from our little corner of the Cotswolds will leave you spoilt for choice.

As well as catering for all of your knitting and crochet needs, we also stock a wonderful selection of haberdashery items, accessories and craft kits, to cater for your every need and be able to professionally finish up your projects.

MEET THE TEAM

We’re a small but experienced team of knitters and crafters here at Sew U Knit. Here’s a bit of information about us.

SUSAN BENNETT

Owner

After returning from living & working in Lanzarote for nearly 10 years I was a little unsure of what I wanted to do. Having trained and worked in Primary education I felt a change was on the cards.

In my late teens/early twenties it was a dream to own or work in a wool shop, I never guessed that it would come true! On Friday 16th May 2014 my dream became a reality and Sew U Knit Crafts was born.

DAVE BENNETT

Voluntary Logistics Manager

Hi, I am Dave the Voluntary Logistics Manager (VLM) also known as Mr B In a previous life I was a Matelot (RN) and a Police Dog Handler. Until recently I drove for the organ transplant organisation and a minibus for the local NOMADS group. These days I find myself acting as crowd controller in the local wool shop. I have attempted both knitting and crocheting but find French knitting and Pom Pom making more my forte! I enjoy the daily banter with all of the customers.

RACHAEL

Sales Assistant

Born and bred in Manchester, I now live in Evesham with my partner, teenage son with our little deaf Jack Russell dog, Eddie. My mother taught me to knit when I was 6. The first item that I made was a scarf for my dad which started out with ten stitches and ended up with about forty, it looked like a triangle but, he still wore it every day under his work overalls. I used to knit every afternoon when I came home from school – watching my favourite TV programmes, Blue Peter and Grange Hill. I had a few years off, then took it up again ten years ago. Now I’m obsessed! My Favourite things to knit are octopus with JCB 100% cotton and jazzy tea cosies, especially the sheep ones. I delegate the sewing bit to my mother.
